SM-X5 All In One Solar Street Light is better than normal LED Street Lights for it is depart from the utility grid, requiring much less maintenance compared to conventional street lights. Simple installation, extremely practical The SM-X5 standalone solar streetlights are very simple to use, no separate battery pack required and no complicated wiring or settings. All you need to do is to attach it with 4 screws to the post and press the on/off button. That is all. The X5 will switch on when the sun sets and switch off when the sun rises. When there is no one around, it will dim itself to improve power efficiency, however, when anyone approaches, it will increase its brightness by a factor of four.
Protected against all weathers
The solar streetlights have to survive extreme cold and hot weather.
The modular structure of the SM-X5 is extremely good at protecting essential parts of the streetlights.
It reaches IP65 protection grade, effectively isolating humidity, dust and heat invasion, making it easy to overcome the challenges of harsh outdoor environments.
Battery determines system stability;
Management determines battery’s stability

Traditional solar-powered streetlights use lead acid batteries that have a very short life cycle and are difficult to maintain, creating massive environmental pollution and a very low ROI. We, therefore, decided to use Lithium-ion batteries that have 3 times the life cycle,4 times the discharge ability and are not harmful to the environment in our sealed product. However, Lithium-ion batteries need a proper battery management system to avoid the “barrel effect”. SM-X5 uses an exclusively patented technology battery management program, enabling the lifespan of the battery to last for over 6 years, greatly improving the ROI and at the same time helping to sustain the earth’s resources.
When the optional exclusive extreme low-temperature protection device is installed, X5 can work at -40℃, thus making it suitable for alpine regions.

High-performance charging controller,
provides full protection for the system

The independent researched and developed charging controller generates more power, especially during cloudy & rainy days.
It simultaneously has protection for over current, over voltage and overheating.
Through the USB interface on the controller, it is able to easily modify its operating mode.

CREE LED ALUMINUM LAMP BASE creates a first-class light source
By choosing the CREE 5W LED chips, single lumen value at 130lm/W (@350mA), with the aluminum lamp base and sealed lens, with its excellent heat dissipation, it is as if the LED chip has been placed in a sealed unit. Thus it maintains high brightness levels with very little fading. The sealed lenses are made of strong UV protected PC and are aging and shock resistant; The well optimized light distribution makes for a more uniform and wider lighting area.

Environment


A. Please select the appropriate product according to the installation site's sunlight intensity and required operating time. If you are in the northern hemisphere, face the solar panels towards the south as far as possible when installing the XS; W you are in the southern hemisphere, face the solar panels towards the north.

B. For maximum operation efficiency of the solar panels, make sure the sunlight is not blocked by buildings or trees.


Altitude and distance parameters


Install according to the height and distance (between the lamps) restrictions as set by each respective product type. Consult our product specialists for special lighting requirements.

Activation test:
Automatic Daytime Activation: Remove the XS Solar street light from its box. If there is adequate outdoor light, the lamp will illuminate for 20 seconds and then turn off, this means the system has been successfully activated. (During weak daylight or night time, please refer to the manual night time activation below).
Manual Night time Activation: If installing the XS at night or in a weak light environment, press the On/Off button. If the lamp lights up, this indicates the system has been successfully activated.
When the USB is not in use, close it properly with the cap in order to avoid damaging the controller through dampness or water.

At 65 mm from the top of the pole, drill a 10mm hole for fixing the X bracket. (See Figure 1)

Installation


Install X bracket: Fix the bracket to the bracket support with the 8 screws buckles, M6 spring washers, and M6 cap nuts. (See Figure 2)

Bird spike: Use 3 self-tapping screws to fix the bird spike along the rim of the top of the light. (See Figure 3)

Install light: Fix the light unit to the pole with M8X25 screws. The maximum torque for those M8X25 bolts is 14Nm. Do not surpass this torque specification. (See Figure 4)

No light at night

Check that the lamp can be manually activated.

Refer to “Activation and Installation” section on this user guide and run activation tests.

Check if the solar panel is blocked from the sunlight by houses, trees and other obstacles.

Clear obstructions or change installation location.

Check if there is any artificial light source(s) shining on the solar panel during the night.

Remove the artificial light source(s) of interference or change the installation location.

Examine status of each component based on the repair guide.

Replace the damaged component(s).

A series shortage of working time

Check if the solar panel is blocked from the sunlight by houses, trees and other obstacles.

Clear obstructions or change installation location.

Check if the surface of the solar panel is dusty or covered.

Clean the surface of solar panels as detailed above.

Examine if the battery pack is damaged as per the repair guide instruction.

Replace damaged battery.

Lighting does not follow the normal operating mode of turning on and off.


Replace damaged battery.

Lights fail to turn on properly when humans approach.

Check if the air temperature close to human body temperature.

When the air temperature is close to human temperature, motion detection may slow down. It will return to normal after the air temperature changes.

Check if the installation height is too high.

It is out of motion detection range when installation height exceeds 8m. It is recommended to reduce the height or use other operating modes.


Replace damaged motion sensor or controllers.
